It's the simple things.

Apparently, I composed an entry with this title before, but I can't remember when. Oh well. "It's the simple things, II"

Today was a productive day. As some of you might remember, I'm trying my damnedest to finish the dissertation process. My dissertation is four chapters: I've written three, but I have to edit and refine Chapters Two and Three by the end of this month. My advisor also suggested that I submit a chapter to a journal just to appease the grad school because I missed my January deadline.

Why, oh why, could I have not enrolled in an online Ph.D. program, a paint-by-numbers dissertation process? I could have been finished in three years. Or, enrolled in an online Ph.D. program like my step-sister, and paid an "editor" a few grand to "edit the dissertation for me? Well, for one, my community college would never accept the dissertation, and I couldn't get a pay raise earning 12K a month. That's why. So I must attempt at being a real scholar. I think. I don't think there's really any such thing.

I have a story about building a house, but I'm too traumatized to discuss it or blog it. But I will. Oh Dog, I will. (Thanks to MisterQueue for the flippant, yet humorous, use of reference to a diety. And yes, I know. I didn't get caught up in the rapture. I'm devastated.)

What else. Drug use. I'm getting into ethnobiotanicals. I'm experimenting with Kanna and Kratom. I bought like an ounce of Kratom and 7 grams of Kanna, both powdered, which didn't do jack for me. Come to find out I didn't take enough. I bought around 30 grams of smokable kanna and 30 grams of powdered Kratom, which should arrive by this weekend. I'll post a mysterious blog about it next Sunday if I'm lucid. Tonight I did a cold extraction of Fioricet, filtered out the Butalbital, and drank it. It topped it off with eight Benadryl allergy tablets. I'll let you know how that goes too.

Tomorrow, I think I will get a monitor. I was searched on Walmart, and I'm shocked at how 20" monitors are now going for around 100 bucks. I need a monitor for my film making, just to get an accurate HD view from my camera. After Walmart, I'll stop by that Mexican carryout inside some gas station food mart and have a five pound burrito as my meal of the day, and then pass out.

Can I just say I love my job? I get paid a few thousand dollars during the summer to teach online courses where the average enrollment is 15 students per class. And I don't have go into my officer until the end of June.

And there will be thunderstorms for the next 24 hours.

Like I said, it's the simple things.
